For more than one hundred years the name of the Barbolini family has been synonym with excellent Lambrusco and quality wine. The winery was founded in 1889 by who, until that date, was already producing his own Lambrusco and balsamic vinegar of Modena and after that date set up a wine cellar for the production of Lambrusco with the purpose to exploit in the best possible way the family’s vineyards, situated in a beautiful place near Modena today called Casinalbo and once upon a time called “Casale Albini” at the foot of the first slopes of the side of Apennino modenese opposite to the “Garfagnana” that is placed between Emilia Romagna and Tuscany. Lambrusco was known even in Roman times. Lambrusco comes in various types and, each being different, largely satisfy the various tastes of the consumer. High quality of Barbolini’s vines is confirmed by prestige awards, that Barbolini has wan. In particularly, LAMBRUSCO GRASPAROSSA LANCILLOTTO 2008 wan the GUIDE 2010 and Golden Star E (4 stars plus golden star), and also would be run for the top final prize “The CRAWN”.
Edigio Barbolini’s son, Armando, before and that his progeny, were then responsible for marketing and expanding this brand. Barbolini has faithfully handed down from generation to generation the rigorous principles of seriousness, honesty and the greatest respect for quality. Today the fourth generation of the Barbolini family still thus the same passion and skill in the vineyard as well as in the cellar and the same vocation for the wine and the balsamic vinegar even created with innovative technologies but always respecting more ancient “Modenesi” centuries-old traditions.
